This a live-in position that requires you to reside on the business premises, as a condition of employment, in order to provide the necessary services to the Individuals Served.
 For the avoidance of doubt, you are free leave the premises for normal private pursuits during all non-duty time, and you acknowledge and agree that the time you spend engaging in such private pursuits, such as eating, uninterrupted sleeping, entertaining, and other periods of complete freedom from all duties, will not be considered working time.

Responsibilities

 

What will my day-to-day look like as a Direct Support Professional?

· Provide opportunities through the day to help residents meet their goals.

· Adhere to the person-centered plans, and behavior plans as written for each resident.

· Provide quality of care and safe and healthy setting free from harm while upholding the rights of all residents. Create a space of trust and relationship with all residents.

· Cook meals as necessary for residents based upon food specifications, diets, food exchanges and documentation.

· Transport residents and attend appointments, advocate, and obtain necessary documentation, when needed.

· Assist with supervision of residents doing their laundry and complete facility laundry as needed.

· Administer medications to residents as needed.

· Must remain awake and immediately accessible in all homes requiring 24/7 care.

Qualifications

 

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred, but not required
  • 1-2 years of previous experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in an environment with the potential for exposure to physical aggression
    from individuals served.
  • Ability to physically and emotionally work with individuals who possess mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

4 - 2nd Shift, 5 - 3rd Shift

Schedule

Full-time evenings / nights:
3pm-10am Monday through Friday
