Overview

This position is responsible for ensuring that all primary responsibilities are delivered in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, County Boards of Developmental Disabilities & Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) guidelines and other regulatory bodies. Responsibilities

  • Has solid knowledge and understanding of person-centered planning and service delivery.
  • Provide service delivery in compliance with the ISP and company procedures.
  • Attends regular staff meetings and communicates regularly with DSPs, Program Specialist, nurse, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Routinely observing and communicating with people supported to assess effectiveness of program implementation.
  • Ensure people supported are aware and involved in all aspects of their supports and services.
  • Assist in development, implementation and on-going evaluation of service plans that are based on the person’s preferences, needs and interests.
  • Consistent completion and review of all service documentation to ensure it is being completed accurately and is submitted administration in a timely manner.
  • Maintains their first allegiance to the people they support by demonstrating respect and supporting problem-solving skills.
  • Understands and promotes UN Declaration of Human Rights and the Bill of Rights of People with DD; teaching and modeling rights to people supported.
  • Understands, follows and supports DSPs in following the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) code of ethics.
  • Helps people supported to develop/maintain positive interpersonal relationships with their peers, family members, friends and others in the community.
  • Assists people supported in navigating community, including providing transportation when necessary for social, medical and general needs.
  • Encourage and assist people supported with enhancement of daily living skills
  • Ensure the health and safety of the person supported are maintained through administration of medications according to Delegated Nursing guidelines and regular review of the MAR .
  • Report all unusual incidents (UI) and major unusual incidents (MUI) according to company policy and procedure and Ohio DODD guidelines.
  • Review the monthly employee schedule when posted. Oversee that employees are adhering to schedule, assist in managing shift coverage and ensure each staff is under 40 hours a week.
  • Respond in a timely fashion (within 15 minutes for emergencies) to phone calls at any time.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the person’s home and purchase cleaning products weekly or as needed to ensure continued health and safety for people supported and employees.
  • Stay current on all company policies and procedures. Observe DSPs, enforce company policy and report specific employee issues to Program Specialists immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all issues and subject matters and observes individuals’ rights.
  • Completes mandatory initial and annual training prior to the expiration date to maintain skills.
  • Participates in required meetings.
  • Follows safety regulations at all times and addresses safety issues that may arise.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • The Home Manager will have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must have experience working with individual service plans or behavior support plans.
  • One year of supervisory experience leading others preferred.
  • Must hold current CPR and First Aid
  • Must hold current Medication Administration / Delegated Nursing Certificate.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation, possess a Valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have criminal record that qualifies you for developmental disability employment, based on the Ohio Revised Code.

Pay Range

USD $18.50 - USD $19.50 /Hr.

Shift and Schedule

1 - 1st Shift, 4 - 2nd Shift, 6 - 12 Hour Day Shift

Schedule

1st and 2nd shifts or a combination of the two, must be willing to work 12-hour weekend every other weekend.
